RSV: Respiratory Sensytial Virus

Infant with  fever, cough, wheezing in brought to ER.  CXR: Hyperinflated lungs with infiltrates.
Transmitted: aerosol or hand-to-hand contact
Treatment: supportive, ribavirin aerosolized, albuterol
Synagis  (vaccine )helps prevent infection in high-risk infants (premature, with heart and lung diseases)
In adult RSV infection is milder.
