ABO or Rh Ag incompatibility between mother and fetus.
- erythroblasts, reticulocytes.
- maternal alloimmunization to fetal RBC Ags. ( prior pregnancy exposure to feel Rh Ags) => maternal Abs react against fetal RBCs
- Severe Fetal hemolytic anemia
- extramedullary hematopoiesis
- HIGH indirect Bilirubin => KERNICTERUS & jaundice
- fetal HF, fetal generalized edema.
Treat: transfusion
Preventive methods : anti-D IgG to D-negative mothers during delivery of D -positive child.
