Empathy

Empathy is the one of the most potent therapeutic interventions, which allows the physician and patient to join together creating the understanding of the illness experience. "Empathy is a one person's appreciation, understanding and acceptance of someone else's emotional situation." In the physician-patient relationships, empathy is an identifying a patient's emotional status accurately, naming it, and responding to it appropriately.
